Next Top Model, Eboni Stocks? No, waitress

black modelsWHILE the 2007 winner of Australia's Next Top Model is now cruising the catwalks of the world, the only strutting that the previous year's victor is doing is between tables at a Sydney cafe.

In a stark contrast that cruelly highlights the fickle nature of the stitches-and-bitches industry; red hot red-head Alice Burdeu is living the dream of a catwalk queen while Eboni Stocks, her predecessor on the Fox 8 series, has a career as Australia's next top commercial models waitress.

Confidential stumbled across the trouble-plagued Stocks ferrying plates of food to customers at Waterloo restaurant Pavarotti - marking the second time the 22-year-old has resorted to working in the service industry since she was crowned Australia's next top model in 2006.

Stocks, whose public profile is dotted with controversial incidents - including charges of obstructing police -, started working at the eatery last week.

Pavarotti manager Frank Purcell admitted he had given the leggy brunette a job because he felt sorry for the failed catwalker.

"She's a good girl and she's had a tough time," Purcell told Confidential."She asked me for some casual work and so far she's turned out to be a great waitress."

Leaving Stock’s plain uniform of T-shirt and shorts for dead, Burdeu has spent the past month draped in glamorous couture from the world's top designers while at the same time being hailed one of the most exciting prospects on the international advertisement modeling scene.
