Vijay’s character has been named as Sura in the role of a fisherman who dwells in the slums situated across coastal region. Grapevine is Vijay’s character is similar to that of MGR in Meenava Nanban.
Telugu flick Magadheera, will be the villain in Ilayathalapathi Vijay's 50th Tamil film Sura, being directed by S.P. Rajkumar and produced by Sangili Murugan.In Magadheera, model-turned-actor Dev Gill performed the dual roles of Senadhipathi Randhev and the reincarnated Raghuveer. Rumoured to be a remake of Malayalam super star Mohanlal's Chota Mumbai (2007) directed by Anwar Rasheed, Sura has already started rolling,Telugu blockbuster Ram Charan Teja’s Maghadheera is playing the villain for the first time in a Tamil film. Since he is very busy in Telugu cinema, the unit of Sura is now shooting in Hyderabad, for his convenience.
